Well its Dec and I am coming up on the 1 year anniversary of owning this hell hole. Did I just say hell hole?
Well anyways days have been tough to get out since I have been working alot but I have managed progress nontheless.
How much well that's in the eyes of the beholder but I think its ok progress. I got the frame painted, inner fender wells (no pics of em already in the attic), rear end, core support and a bunch more parts. This is of course after all of the fun sandblasting. Invest in a mask otherwise your nose becomes black and well its like you have smokers lungs from all the coughing up shit you end up doing. Anyways I found some guys on EBay selling parts so I think the disc brake conversion and the auto to manual conversion is going to be coming to a reality. As you can see I have been putting on the finishing welding touches to the rear end donor piece...still have the driver side to tackle but I am finally close to being done with that. Me and the welder have become one. Literaly! I love it when the weld comes puring out onto the concrete and jump into your shoe. Man that is like sex! No its really not. My upcoming plans will be to finish the inner rear fender well welding and the driver side patch that needs to be put in, then install the conversion piece for the standard tower (have to cut hole in driveshaft tunnel), then mount up the doors, then possibly the frame and the heater core assembly....but not necessarily in that order. Oh yeah and get the rear end taken down and get the gears changed out to something like a 3:42 or something and possibly replace one or both of the axles as they seem a bit worn but could probably work. Ask me when? Maybe over XMas holidays if this piece of crap software Kana that we bought at work will ever stay up for longer than 20 minutes and I don't have to go in and play emergency physician on it. Well not too say that we do much on it...its more like hey we have a problem...let's reboot since that's the only thing that will fix it! Anyways enough on the ramblings let's get to some pics! They are not in order so you'll just have to make do...18rs :)
